Audioguide English

One last intervention for the day. The chief has been running, screwing, scooping, and suturing for the last 8 hours. Over the course of his regular OR marathon, he has ingested a total of one and a half pretzels, which he snacked while responding to emails at his desk in between operations. He forgot to drink water that day, which does not play well with the strenuous surgical labor. Ultimately, he asks for a pill of paracetamol. The OR technician gets him the painkiller and a cup of water with a straw.

The professor’s workday, however, is not over yet, as performing surgery will now be followed by talking about surgery and discussing philosophical matters of the neurosurgical trade in the wake of his most recent book publication, Kopfarbeit (2022).
